When I'm late for a job interview and get stuck in an elevator with a grumpy, ancient-Rome-obsessed guy who happens to be the billionaire owner of the building, I never imagine that I'd almost accidentally kill him. Sure, I don't land the plant care job I applied for, but I do get an interesting offer.

Lucius needs to fake a relationship to deceive the public and his grandmother, while I need money for tuition to pursue my botany degree. Our arrangement seems mutually beneficial, until I start developing feelings.

As a cactus lover, I've learned that getting too close often results in getting hurt.

After the elevator incident, I'm left with three things: a bottle of pee, a life-threatening allergic reaction, and paparazzi photos of me and my "girlfriend" that make my grandma ecstatic. My next move is to convince, not blackmail, this cute girl to pretend to date me. This keeps my grandma happy and keeps the gold diggers away.

Unfortunately, biology, my arch nemesis, kicks in and the "not getting physical" part of our agreement becomes increasingly difficult to stick to. Worse yet, the longer I'm with Juno, the more my icy exterior melts away.
